MyLicence Origins
MyLicence was originally set up as a joint initiative of the DVLA, the Department for Transport, and the insurance industry, represented by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB).
These organisations work together to deliver the service in partnership with insurance brokers, comparison sites, and other industry bodies. MyLicence was developed to deliver a better experience for you, by reducing costs for safe and honest motorists; tackling fraud; minimising disputes; improving road safety; and delivering a solution that helps speed up the purchase process.
2024 and onwards
MyLicence is now a helpful guide to saving motorists money on Car Insurance by providing tips and advice to aid lower premiums.
